more memory on the video card gives you better performance on higher resolutions in games

Wrong
(No offense...). The 8800GTS 320MB (back in those days.. don't compare) could use all of the 320MB. There was a tiny difference between the GTS 320 and the GTS 640. To me, it points out that the way the 8600 performs... 256MB won't even be all used. 512MB is just tricking you into buying something more expensive that you won't even be able to use.

However with the 8600, you won't see a difference between the 256MB and 512MB version, because the 8600 isn't powerful enough to play games at super high resolutions anyways.

The main difference will be signicate at high resolution??
(Although the benchmark is not base on 8600GTS, you can see the different between 8800GT 256MB vs 512MB.) http://en.expreview.com/?p=64&page=3 By the way, I will say it is worth to get HD3850 |
