Default Computer don't always turn on. Help......

I'm having a problem with my comouter. I'm one that when I'm done with it at nights end I turn it off. Of lately when starting it back up it will turn on and then the voice says,,,,Computer fails memory caps..........I let it set for a while and hit reset once or twice and finally it goes. I have Asus deluxe mother board, Radeon 1300 card, Windows XP and 3200 Athlon prosessor. Now when I first built this one it also had the same problem when I first fired it up. Wiggled some wires around and it would go. But it the statement..............Computer fails memory caps......that has me wondering. Can someone out there give me a hand on this one?

RAM must be dying. Download and run Memtest86. I'd get the .iso version and copy it to a CD... Best way. Boot from it, and complete a scan.

What is the Memtest86 and where do I get it? What's it going to tell me. Realize I'm no pro at this so you'll have to explain it and how to do it. You guys are the pros.
