Exclamation Internet freezes! Help!

in the oast week ive been having internet issues. my internet often stops responding and i cant open web pages, talk on any im programs or anything, the freeze last for about 30 seconds. and also if i am playing a game my ping shoot up to like 300 for a few sec then back to normal and does that alot. then if i try and rejoin i cant until maybe 30 seconds later. also i noticed that whenever this happens 2/4 of my modem lights turn off and one flashes:

Power = green
Receive = Flashing
Send = off
online = off

and i cant turn the modem off when this happens. i would really like to find out what is causing this. my computer? modem? router? ISP? i dunno but any help would be great.

Sometimes you need to pull the power on your modem and let it reset. It could be a problem with your NIC. Check for updated drivers from your computer vender's web site. If it continues then you should call your ISP to fix the problem.

It sounds like the modem is already power cycling. As camper said it could be a NIC problem, it could also be that you have a bad connection (noise on the line, etc) or a faulty modem. I'd call up your ISP to get this settled.
