Default Google Desktop Search

Hello everyone,

I recently downloaded the google desktop search bar. It indexed my computer. When I search various things for it, it brings up my web history. I would like to be able to delete my web history for google to not be able to find it. Is there anyway I can do this? I've tried various programs to clear my cache and delete temporary files. I am using Mozilla Firefox.

Firefox's history can be cleared by going to Tools---Options---Privacy---Clear History. Try that and see what happens...though a copy may remain in Google's index.
I do not use any desktop search tool myself, as I do not like what they find

Actually, the desktop search project is going to be the biggest legal adware and apyware programs available.

Imagine google sending you some nice windows pop ups based on the keywords you search your hard disk by, like what they are doing currently in their normal web search or in Gmail?? Do you really like that Google know what you search for on your PC???? I personally don't like this and never install an internet toolbar even, I hate spies.

I agree with narafa on the issue of being against desktop searchers.

But in answer to your question, do as red onion said, and if you wish to never store your internet history again, simply set the number of days/MB's allowed to 0 within your options.

I don't think there's a specific way to stop only the google desktop searcher from searching through your internet history though.

I suggest that you remove the Google Desktop searcher. It is one of the biggest adware/malware/whatever etc.

My friends have used it to search for things on a test computer. turns out all the pop-ups crashed his computer. We think theres a keylogger on there as well as some of his passwords have been changed

IE (Internet Explorer)-When the list comes up of what you've searched just put your mouse over the search and press the delete button. Or just go into options and clear the Cache.
