Well I bought a super cheap bundle about 1.5 years ago but I've upgraded many times heres the "history"
COMPAQ Presario SR1910NX (came with printer + CRT monitor) $ 350 + 512 ram $30 + 1GB ram $55 + 7600GT $150 (remember when 7600GT's costed $150+? )+ Athlon64 X2 3800+ $80 + Thermaltalke 430W PSU $50 (sold it) + Rosewill 500W PSU $60 + 2x dvd burners (1 broke down) $50 + Hanns-G 19"w 5ms $180 recently ordered: + HD3870 $250 + NZXT Apollo Orange $75 TOTAL: $1330!! And I know, I should've saved and bought a super computer for $1000, but technology keeps going and going

no idea, my last upgrade cost around £400 which got me Q6600, Gigabyte DS4 P35, 2GB DDR2-800mhz, X1950XT
My P180 was free, my power supply was an insurance job after the last one blew. My 20" lcd was through a contact for £100 over a year ago.... probably about £600 got me to where i am

when i first built my pc i spent between 500 and 600 bucks for a 1.86ghz core 2 duo, ECS NForce SLI motherboard, 1gb of ddr2, a 512mb GeForce 7600GS, and a Lian Li PC-V2100 II case.
already had a hard drive, crt monitor, keyboard, and mouse. 5-6 months later upgraded to whats in my sig now. easily cost more then 1k now. hmm...both monitors were around $210, the quad is a few hundred. each of the 3 internal hard drives were around $80, the 8800GTS was around $350. 4gb of the ram was $310 when i got it in june (its now only $80 )
