Default Media files from Vista to Mac using DVD

I'm trying to put some .avi files from my PC (Vista) to a Mac. When the DVD goes in the Mac it says it says it is a blank DVD. I tried using .rar files but again the Mac said it was a blank DVD.

How can I get the Mac to read the files?

Are you sure the DVD is successfully burning?

If the mac reads it as blank, i would assume its blank, not that its not recognizing the files. If it couldnt recognize the files, it would give you an error saying it couldnt recognize the files.

I'm not sure if I'm burning them because I just drag them over to the dvd window, does that just copy them and not burn them? And also, when I try and use Windows DVD Maker it just comes up with "not responding", are there any other dvd burners which actually work?

try Nero or CDburnerXP, if you have it, i'm presuming you're making the disc as data right ? or actual movie ?
everything i burned on XP worked on osx
probably there's something wrong you're doing.
or if u still have difficulties with burning just get an external from a friend and transfer over

I'm transferring the actual movie files, not data, will that make a difference?
