Default Q6600 G0 at newegg now?

Darn It. I was hoping to get the new q9450 in jan.

I have ordered all the parts beside the video card and the CPU.

I think I will just get the Q6600 now. But my question is the q6600 at newegg, is it already at G0 or do i have to wait again?

How much faster will the q9450 be over Q6600? like 10% 20% 50%? give me an educated response. ^^

thank you

I've heard that most of not all Q6600's on Newegg are the G0. As for performance differences, clock for clock the new 45nm processors aren't a whole lot better, less then 10% in most cases.

If you want a guaranteed Q6600 G0, buy it from clubit.
They guarantee that the one you are buying is the G0 stepping.
Here: Q6600 G0 Retail or this one Q6600 G0 OEM

The difference between this G0 stepping and the B3 stepping (previous one before G0) is that the B3 runs hotter than G0. Not by a whole lot and it will only affect performance if you will be OC-ing it. Otherwise with a good heat sink, it should perform well enough for normal usage.

I was under the impression that the models that started with "BX" were the GO models, and the models that started with "HH" weren't. I may have been given bad info.

althought i think 10% may be a little bit low, i agree with omega that the performance gain is not worth the extra money. the q6600 is an amazing cpu
