This is embarrassing to ask, but here goes. I'm building a comp, ordering all the parts separately through various sites. Do i needs to buy some kind of wire package, or do parts come with the required wires.
I ordered this CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115017 Do i need to buy a fan + heat gel for it? If so can someone recommend some for me. I ordered this Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9&Tpk=p35-ds3l Can somebody suggest a case for it less then $100. I'm getting a 8800 GT, plus all the previously mentioned stuff. I figure I'm going to need a good amount of cooling. Can anyone recommend some fans that would fit in the aforementioned case. I'm also looking for a nice monitor, thats not too expensive (less then $200). Any suggestions? To any answers, thanks for taking the time to help a noob, I know there prolly the easiest questions, but it's better the look like a noob and know, then to screw up a huge investment. |

Welcome to the forums, I see you're fairly new.
![]() And theres no "noob" questions around here ![]() Regarding your questions, no you don't need any cable packages only of course if you have a giantic case and you need cable extensions but I don't think this is the case. That CPU and Mobo are are great pair along with the 8800GT. A case I would recommend is this one because lots of people buy it. Theres plenty of room and is perfect to keep everything cool. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=antec%2b900 And for the monitor, I recommend this one, Hanns-G is a good brand I own one and they are great: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824254005

that's a highly recommended case. i ordered mine and got it damaged, waiting on the replacement. till then i have all my components sitting in my washer/dryer room...sucks ![]() oh yeah all the wires will come. there really aren't many wires in computer building. i mean, number wise there are several but pretty much all of them go from the power supply to your components. then there is a hard drive and cd drive cord and that's pretty much it except the wires you connect from your case. there might be a couple of others i'm missing, but all in all not many. The case I suggested has 4 fans included and no, you don't need thermal paste for the CPU unless you want to Overclock you might want to get some extra cooling paste.

Hey, I didn't want to start a new thread for this so I'll just post it here. When i do finally get this comp built I don't want anything to go wrong. I want to run the full volley of tests before I commit to gaming with it. So my question is... what tests are out there that i can DL and run. Heat is my primary concern, but I'm sure there are other things out there that i should be aware of. Don't hold back, theres no such thing as being too safe.
