Default Lens adaptor? & recommendation

Took this from a post i made in the loungs

Quote:
does anyone know of any kind of adaptor that would allow a 55mm lens attachment fit a 58mm bevel. I have a minolta 70-210 lens here and its a damn good one but the attachment size is slightly different

Also, for those that use digital SLR's what lens' do you have at the moment. In the new year I will be looking to add one or two lens to my collection. I'd like to have something with a decent range on it that i can use at track days and possibly le mans & an F1 race. Bear in mind at the F1 I will most likely be a reasonable distane from the track so need to zoom in on it.

Any ideas?
