Exclamation hdd upgrade question

I have a compaq v6210us laptop (amd a broken wrist so sorry of spelling) with a TOSHIBA MK8034GSX harddrive. I want to upgrade it, and i need to know what kind of harddrive i can upgrade to. web sites say my hd is a sata hd, but i need to know if i can upgrade to ATA-6, SATA 3.0Gb/s, or Serial ATA150 hd.

also, i need to know if Apricorn EZ Upgrade IDE Universal Enclosure Kit is compatible with vista home premium. also will i need any additional things like a vista upgrade disc?

The drive you have is SATA150 and is 2.5"

The enclosure should be vista compatable. I can't find the IDE enclosure but their other enclosures are and there's no reason that one shouldn't be as well.

1 the kit works on "Apple MacOS 8.6 or later, Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP", so will it work on vista?

2 can i set partitions to like 160gb c: and 10gb d: if i use 200gb?

3 will hitachi travelstar 7k200 work on my laptop? (http://www.nextag.com/Hitachi-200GB-...42/prices-html)

1. I looked on the Apricorn site and all their other enclosures were fine with vista. Your's should be fine as well.

2. Yes, you can partition it how you want.

3. Yes that travelstar should be fine.
