Hey guys,
I didn't know where to put this thread but I'm guessing I'm gonna need some software so perhaps this is the right place. I'm trying to connect my Casio LK-70s keyboard to my computer, I have the right USB cable and all that. It's showing up as connected. Now what I really need help with is this, I don't know what the heck "MIDI channels" and all that jazz means. All I want to do is record a little piece onto my computer to mix with another song using FL Studio 7/Cakewalk/Sony Sound Forge 9. Can anyone help a hopeless newbie here? Thanks chaps, Vic

Thanks for the quick reply, I've put that link in my favourites, too many big words there for this time of night
![]() Really all I wanted was a program that would pick up the output of my keyboard and let me record it. Like the equivalent of Amplitube/Guitar Rig for guitar.

Hey Victor, i use FL-Studio 7 and an MIDI keyboard (Behringer UMX-61) connected via USB. In FL-Studio, go to options, midi settings and then enable ur keyboard from there. But i'm assuming the instrument "noise" ur trying to play is on ur keyboard and not set as a virtual instrument on the computer, if this is the case sorry i can't really help, maybe you could try and find a virtual instrument similar to the the instrument you are trying to play on you keyboard.

Hey Salman,
Thanks for your reply, I tried that but it doesn't have anything listed under "input", under output it has "microsoft MIDI mapper" and "Microsoft GS waveable Synth" I've tried them both with no luck. I can't seem to find the driver CD that came with my piano, do you think it's necessary? Vic

Hmmm my knowledge of MIDI is pretty limited, with my keyboard I didn't have to use any drivers, but I'll try and see if i can find the drivers for your keyboard on the internet to download and you can see what happens from there.

Its right at the bottom of the page, download and install that and hopefully your keyboard should work, through USB, but i think the USB on this keyboard might not be for MIDI playing but for transfering music files? If this is the case you'll have to look at the MIDI ports on the back of your keyboard and buy an adapter that will convert one of them to USB.

salman thanks for your help, I've downloaded it but apparantly it's an update to version 1.2 from version 1.1 that came on the CD, I also downloaded the manual that said it's compatible with most MIDI software and what not so I'm sure it can be used to record music.
I'm sure my problem is with the drivers so I'll have to do a bit more rummaging through my old CDs to see if i can find it. ![]() Many thanks mate, Vic
