Default Connection help.

I finally got my computer working, but I need to connect to the internet. I feel like a total idiot, but I need to turn to someone.... So, can anyone help me out straight from square one?

No need to feel like an idiot. Everybody has to start somewhere.

Can you give us some more details about your set up? Do you already have an internet servive provider? If so, what type of connection? (cable, dial up, DSL) Do you only have one computer? Any thing else we need to know?

Once we get the basics we will be able to point you in the right direction.
