Angry Computer has been running slow

Now I know I don't have the greatest system, but it used to be faster what can do to speed things up Here are my specs.
Processor: Intel celeron 800 Mhrz
Video: Geforce 2 64 Meg PCI
Os: WIndows XP Professional
Ram: Sdram 512 Meg
Hardrive: Segate 160 Gig
No Spyware that I know of I use Ad-aware

Do you only use Ad-aware? Do you have an antivirus program/firewall? The reason I'm asking is because Ad-aware alone would not protect your computer well enough.

Have you defragmented your drive lately? Try it, that would certainly help.

Try removing some software from the hard drive that you never use or you could remove some software from the Startup, it make your system load/ start faster.

Talking Done that

Iv'e defragmented my harddrive, but I havn't found a good way to clean out my startup programs and anyways my pc starts pretty fast. Maybe I should clean some junk off my harddrive eh.

Try Ccleaner (crap cleaner) . It removed over 3 gb the first time i used it (removes tons of stuff you wouldnt need).
