Unhappy Please help, I need sound...

Ok, so I reinstalled windows on my computer and when I booted up, I realized that I had no sound. My mother board is a gigabyte p35-ds3. I tried downloading the drivers again, but they dont seem to do anything. I downloaded the drivers from the motherboard cd, and nothing happened. then I got the drivers from the gigabyte website and they didnt help. On the dxdiag, it says that there is no sound card detected, and I cant figure out how to fix that since its suggestion is to download the drivers again (which ive done). Can somebody please help!

Thanks, Max

Go into the BIOS when you boot up the computer, and check to make sure that the onboard audio isn't disabled.

Well, this computer was built by me. the mobo is a gigabyte p35-ds3r. processor is intel core2duo e6550. Ram is 2gb of crucial balistix. Video card is Geforce 8800 gts 320 mb.

Whats weird is that two days ago the sound worked fine, but now, after i reinstalled windows, the sound wont work.

Any suggestions please? Is it possible that it could be broken somehow? I don't understand why it is not recognized.

Thanks for any help.

Ok, so I have an update, I tried downloading the drivers again, but it wont completely download because something about how the software has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatability with windows XP, and when that comes up, I try pressing continue anyway, but then the download just freezes and doesnt finish. Is there a way around this?

Thanks, Max
