I have 2 routes to choose when I build my PC.
One route is to get the newer motherboards that support PCI-e 2.0 and DDR2 1200, or to get the current age tech that only supports PCI-e 1.0 and DDR2 800. 2 gigs of DDR2 800 is like 40 dollars, which is dirt cheap. However, 2 gigs of DDR2 1200 is around 200 dollars, which is insanley expensive. I can almost get 8 gigs of DDR2 800 for the same price of 2 gigs of 1200. Anyways, will I benefit greatly from choosing DDR2 1200 over DDR2 800? |

I don't think the price is worth the small performance increase you will get with DDR2 1200. Go with the PC2 6400 (DDR2 800) modules.

No it's not worth it to get DDR2 1200 memory, DDR2 800 is fine.

OK thanks. Im actually getting DDR2 1000 ram. Aparantly, its DDR2 800, but it can be easily overclocked past 1000? Whatever, as long as it works in my mobo, I don't care.

And yes it will work in your motherboard if it's under DDR2 1200.
