Default no sound but drivers installed

ok just built aamd 5600+ using an ECS motherboard. loaded up everything (using XP) and everything works just great except my sound. Drivers are loaded but no sound card is found. Not sure if this has something to do with me using XP instead of vista. ran the dxdiag and it shows no sound card being found. went to add/remove hardware and no sound card is found. I have even gone into the bios and tried deactivating the HD sound to see if that had something to do with it. If someone can help please do thanks.

If you could give us more info about your system it would help. Mobo model , and it your using a sound card the model of it as well , unless it's onboard sound.
