Default My First Computer

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7779562

I finally got a computer of my own for XMas and I was wondering if it was any good? Will it run Vista alright? I'm not much of a gamer, I'll just be using it for the internet and some programs mostly. I'll for sure be adding another 1GB of RAM in the future just in case. Is everything else fine?

Well, seeing that it uses onboard graphics, you might have a little trouble running full Aero with features like the 3D flip, but besides that, it should be okay. And yes, definitely add another gig of ram.

its a nice pc for the money you paid, but even if it can, don't run vista, in a perfect world everyone would be running Linux, but thats not gonna happen... lol If you want check this post out, it gives you links to parts on newegg that you can put together to build a pretty good pc for less then $500 ! The specs of the pc are 2.0 DUAL CORE processor and 4GB RAM. It also has a 512 mb video card, but its not the best for gaming, check it out here if your interested: http://www.pc-nerds.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3

Thanks everyone! I've heard some cautionary tales about Vista and it's long loading times, wanted to know if it might be a problem beforehand. Thanks for info on the RAM too, I've been reading that 2GB is what you should have now-a-days? It looks like it'll be a fine amount of RAM for now.

It's overpriced IMO... $650 for a rig that can't even run HALO right? Pshh...
