Default Ok, finally realized I need to build a comp, all spected out, what you think?

As follows...

case

mobo/cpu

drive 1

drive 2

HD

video card

ram...(2 of these, thus 2 gigs )

...I am aware that this is a little costy, but I do have the money to do it. I did have to cut corners in some places(ie. sound card) but this is the way I think i want it, what yall think...any input welcome. Also, this should be a rather good gaming computer correct, which it will mostly be used for ?

Can I have it?

I'm not an expert, but I think it'd be great for gaming. Might want a bigger hd though (at least I would, but that will sure do for playing games).

Your case: $96 at newegg ($54 cheaper)

Your video card: $374 at newegg ($56 cheaper)

Drive 1: $99 at newegg ($20 cheaper)

Drive 2: I like LiteOn DVD Roms ... 169 is $24

Your HD ... you might want to look into sata drives.

Unless you plan to overclock you should conisder getting the athlon 64 4000+ instead of the fx-53. There is 0 difference in performance between the two. They are the exact same chip except the 4000+ has locked multipliers. The athlon 64 4000+ should cost you a good $100 cheaper. If you plan to overclock then go ahead and keep the fx-53.

1. Gesus for $119 you can do MUCH MUCH better for a DVD burner. Have a look at the NEC 3520A or the Pioneer109.

2. Have a look at a LiteOn DVDROM

3. See if you cant get CAS2.5 memory, pairing that system with CAS3 is heartbreaking

Good call. Furthermore, you should look into perhaps some aftermarket cooling

You're paying bigbucks for an SLi capable mobo, but your're not using SLi.

I'd say get a cheaper mobo if you don't plan on going SLi (probably another $450 anyways if you did) and save your self ~$100.
