Default mother board 680i no post

hi guys i bought a EVGA motherboard 680i motherboard a couple of months ago...i finally get the processor for christmas and everything i need to build the computer is there..i build connect and to my surprise...motherboard doesn't post, the leds on the 680i says A0 or AO and while its on if i press reset i get a 20 or 2O error code...i have no clue what to do everything is seated properly and the motherboards is on the golden thingys on the case so thats not an issue either...is my motherboard DOA or something plz help

Try only putting one stick of ram in and see if it will boot . If it does go into your bios and set your Ram voltage and timings manually.

i only have one stick of ram in it and its 1 gig, ive tried other slots as well and its the same thing..

I don't know that this is the problem but do you have any ddr2 800 speed ram you can try?

i know whta you mean, and yes i do, actually the one i have on the MOBO right now has been used on another computer before so i don't think its the ram

What I'm saying is it might not boot from the 1066 memory but would from a lower speed. Also have you tried to reset the cmos?

is easier to solve this by posting this over at the evga board since everyone there owns the board and is bound to have the same ram you got.
