I have Media center 2002, I have called best buy and circuit city and they do not sell an upgrade for Media center 2005. They say it is a free download but I can't find where to download it off of microsofts website. So is it a free download or do you have to purchase it from somewhere?
<<UPDATE>> Just spoke with Dell. I purchased my computer in Dec 2005. Dell said that looking at my sysem specs I should have media center 2005 on the computer. But my properties say 2002. The Dell guy thinks that they are the same, ie it is a typo. Any thoughts on this? Thanks Last edited by caliskier; 12-30-2007 at 01:45 AM. Reason: Update info |

Wow, how annoying is that. I am thinking about buying the linksys media center extender but can't use it unless I have windows media center 2005. I guess microsoft is not pushing this product as I can't seem to buy it. They are more focused on vista now I suppose. The media center extender will not work on vista insidently.
