I'm sorry if there is a thread about this already but I need to know if there is a big difference between 16MB and 32MB SATA II hard drives...
The 32MB is about AU$30 more (I am getting 2x 500GB seagate SATA hard drives) and i was wondering whether this extra spending would be worth it I have heard that 32MB is good when scanning your computer for viruses and stuff like that but I was wondering whether or not this is true because i have heard otherwise and i am quite confused Is it worth me spening tjhe extra $60 overall (remember I'm in Australia) to get the 32MB or just stay with the 16MB ![]() Thanks, Last edited by jds21; 01-01-2008 at 04:08 AM. as far as i know the cache makes a large difference to the performance of the drive. so yes. in my opinion it would be worth it.

The cache can make a difference but past 16MB I don't think it's going to be visible outside of benchmarking.
