Default norton antivirus problem

my norton antivirus locks up on reboot. you see the "please wait while closing program" dialog box when i restart. had it with xp for years and never had this problem. it doesn't give me any problems during regular use, just at shutdown/restart. i tried reinstalling to no avail. anyone else have this problem?

Your problem is that you're using Norton. Get rid of it. Try Kaspersky, Panda, Avast or Avira. You'll thank me later.

Have you tried a system restore to before the problem started?

Avira and Avast are both better than AVG and Norton.
