Starting CoD4 Server Question

ok so when I go to create a new server, My friend doesn't see it in the server list. He makes sure that filtering is off so all of them show and he says he can't find the one I created. Any help?

And another thing, how come I see servers that have cool colored letters? and I see websites selling servers for like $20/mo.?

all i know is you need to have port forwarding or something... thats about all i can contribute sorry

hi the first thing about starting a server is not to use the option in the game the second thing is you really need a second pc to run it properly, if you have tried to run a server using the option in the game did you set it to dedicated ? anyway i wrote a guide here is the link let me no how you go if you have any questions pm me post here.
