Default Evga Graphic Cards?

If I get evga 8800 gts g92, and later 9 series comes out, can I use the ste-up for the 9 series ultra? Or is it only for the edition I got and lower? For an example since I got gts, will I only get gts and lower? or would I be able to get ultra?

How does this step-up exactly work?

you could get an ultra. i was gonna buy an 8600 GT and then step up to the 8800GT when it was available.

The whole step up process takes quite a while. I think you would want to make sure you have a backup card if you do it.

You need to trade your card in within 90 days, 3 months. You'll need the receipt or invoice or whatever, the warranty sticker can't be taken off, card can't be damaged, etc. Other than that, You can step-up to any card you want.

how much more do I have to pay? is it all the same price?
if so it would be the same price to upgrade from 8600gt to 9series ultra as to gtsg92 to 9 series ultra?

i think you just pay the difference.

so if the 8600 is 200 and the ultra is 1000 you would pay 800 to step up.

im probably wrong tho.

yeah i decided not to step up from the 8600GT to 8800GT cos i may as well have waited. i might have done something to break the 8600 before i steped up. wasnt worth it.
