You are trying to find something to argue about, and it is simple, no I didn't say "anyone that didn't like Vista is a moron"... When you define my sentence into 'layman's terms', "Anyone who doesn't know what format means is moronic". I applied that to that one and only reason for dislike, the people who "lost their stuff". And moronic, we will call that in the form of "Computer literacy IQ".

Work on that comprehension ability, if you take this the wrong way.

So instead of saying, "It is the junkiest junk I have ever seen", further reveal what problems that could be encountered with that case's circumstances. That applies to being pessimistic about Vista. Does it not have any pros?

Almost a year ago Microsoft introduced a new Operating System: Windows Vista. Not counting the server editions and other updates such as Windows 98 SE, this OS is (delete already) the 7th version of Windows released since computers began to be the norm in households. I’m sure you have heard of most versions, but for those who haven't, here's a list on the black board:

Windows Vista January 2007
Windows XP October 2001
Windows ME September 2000
Windows 2000 February 2000
Windows 98 June 1998
Windows NT July 1996
Windows 95 August 1995

We must keep in mind that there has been two major SPs have been released following the original Windows XP. The first SP was released in September 2002 and the second one was released in August 2004.

So as you can see, Microsoft releases a new OS every 1.5 to 2 years.

So what exactly is the reason that Microsoft wants us to buy a new OS every 2 years? If I look at my own computer history, I must admit that I haven’t used or bought all of the operating systems. That is mainly because some of them are poorly made or there was hardly any notable difference between the prior OS.
Before Windows XP, it really wasn't important how the operating system looked. More importantly was that the OS had good hardware support and security. With Windows XP, everything changed. XP is better looking than the previous versions of Windows and the hardware support is also a lot better. Just about every piece of hardware made today is compatible with the operating system.

So what about Windows Vista? Is it as good as Windows XP, or even better? Sadly, but truly Windows Vista is not better than XP. Okay, Vista has a lot of nice eye-candy, such as Aero, but after a few days it isn’t very special anymore. More importantly, the operating system is not easier to use, faster or better. In fact, it will slow down your computer. If you take a look on the blackboard, you can see how Windows Vista is slower than XP.
So what does this all mean? It means that if you want to have Windows Vista running at the same speed as your old Windows XP, you will have to upgrade your current hardware or even have to buy a new computer in order to run Vista. And what do you get then? A computer that can do exactly the same as your old one and with the same speed, isn’t that fantastic?

For the basic user, Windows XP works fine and offers enough features to satisfy most users. E-mail, surfing the Internet and office applications are all possible in Windows XP. Running Windows Vista will not offer anything more other than eye-candy.
I must also mention that Microsoft states that Vista is a lot ‘safer’. Didn’t they tell us the exact same thing when they introduced Windows XP? There are always new security lags found or ‘made’. So what do they mean with ‘safer’?
The only positive point of Windows Vista is that it supports more than 3 GB or ram, which XP doesn’t. However that is only useful for high-end systems and people who really needs it, such as engineers or a video editors. Most of us are just basic users so my recommendation is to just stay with Windows XP and do not let Microsoft deceive you. It is just a marketing trick to make more money.

Microsoft not only develops Windows operating systems, they are also the developers of Microsoft Office. For MS Office they use the same marketing trick; every 3 years they release a new Office edition which looks better, but is basically just the same old MS Office with a different skin and some new tools and features that you won't use.

By the way, does anyone knows what we can expect in 2020? ………… Windows Retro! Old school style, it will be the same as Windows 95 only with a different name.

I did some basic editing. Corrected all the grammatical/spelling errors and word choices I found. Everything that I changed is in red. Also, when you want to emphasize something, don't use contractions, write the full two words out.

Thanks a lot didyouknowthat

I would like to add something to the text, but I don't know if it is written in good English, so I will put it here.

Windows Vista is also delivered with a built-in User Account Protection, also known as UAP. This UAP seems great, because it prevents all users from performing potentially dangerous tasks without first providing security warnings to ensure that the user understands what they are doing before making a critical mistake. But this is Microsoft and Microsoft made it the most annoying feature ever. This UAP feature throws up an unbelievable amount of warning dialogs for even the most simple tasks! With the result that users won’t read the warnings anymore and will just click them away. The security dialogs are the same, they also pop-up every time when you try to launch a program which is not recognized by windows.

Thanx for all reactions.

I changed some things, and like some of you already said, this presentation is good to tell to people who don't no anything about computers
Yesterday I had my presentation and it was okay (presentation time was 7 minutes, 5 was required)

I don't know how the marks in England are but here in The Netherlands it was a 7.4
So I think it was B or something

Thanks for letting us know, we should have tried harder as my old teacher use to say and you may have got an A. Spelling was my strong point but grammar always let me down.
