I've got two windows XP installation CDs:
1. WinXP Home. Boots and installs perfectly, but needs activation which i lost and don't have anymore. 2. WinXP Pro. Installs perfectly, activation-friendly, but wouldn't boot. So every time i reinstall my OS i have to install Win #1, then out of its shell install Win #2. Cause Win #2 DOESN'T BOOT!! and it sucks so bad. Such a pain to double install it everytime. Does anybody have any ideas? Here's what i've tried already: Burned a bootable data-CD with Nero. Result: boots in DOS-mode. then i get into the directory with Win #2, type setup.exe. And.. it still wouldn't work, saying that this file can be started from WIN32 only. |

Did you have both OS installed? Why not just reformat and install XP Pro, that should work.
