Default Boosting internet speed

I have a 512kbps internet connection and was wondering if theres any tools and tweaks i use to boost its speed?

Lol it all depends on your connection, virus-proneness and router. I don't see a better way than to keep it out from badies.

Apparently it works really well if you're using a USB router, it works a bit with ethernet but not as much. I haven't done it since I formatted so I'm gonna give it a try now and see if it makes a difference for me.

Ok, I'm LAN ( Ethernet ) so it didn't help a bit, but it's most likely I just don't see if anything changed because my Internet is fast enough for me.
So, thanks again, and let's hear if PCPimp likes the method.

Yeah PC_Pimp tell us if it worked.

I just did it with mine and I can notice a slight increase in speed. I'm using ethernet too.

I just tried it and i think it may have helped a tid bit but not really much if it did.

Do a before and after.
The "hack" doesnt really help. If you think about it, how does your computer know what your bandwidth is and sets aside 20% of it. If anything it thinks you are on a 100mpbs connection or 54mpbs wireless.
