getting back to the main post and some other posts, being one of the few people who has actually tested having large amounts of ram for gaming, i can honestly say that YES you probably will see a difference in gaming (and even general performence) if you have a 64bit os and go from 2gb to 4gb.

i say 'probably' because the results might not be the same for everybody. could be something besides ram holding back your pc.

Besides increasing memory far over what is actually needed you saw a difference with a 64bit edition of Windows over 32bit. The cpu and video card will make a difference as well as simply adding more memory. As far as memory seeing any real gain going from 512mb or 1gb upto 2gb is where the real gain is noticed. The OSs and softwares are still quite a bit behind the rapid changes seen with hardwares.
