Some overall system information especially the make and model board would be needed for any advice on what memory could be used there. A look at the specifications will show what is supported.

it is an abit AN-M2, AM2 4600+, in the manual it says that the board can support up to 8g's, and has duel-channel, i have tried moving them to every slot and setting the BIOS to best setup, but it still dosent do anything

Abit's page on that model is seen at http://www.uabit.com/index.php?optio...ge=1&model=384

If you have a pair of 1gb dimms one could be bad. Trying each separately on the first slot specified as first on the first channel when only seeing one dimm in use will show if that's what you are seeing there. The manual will show which slots are used for the dual channel mode if no faults are found.

For ocing you would select a performance type memory for sure there. For stock use you can go with either performance or value memory according to what the board supports which sees DDR2 800 as the memory standard there.

Try one stick at a time to see if one is bad.

A bad dimm or one being mislabeled would be the idea for trying each separately. If they were bought at separate times rather then in something like a 2gb kit a mislabeled dimm with mismatched timings could be more likely. In some cases even with kits one dimm will good when run separate of the orher.
