Default Screen Recorder

Anyone know a nice screen recorder that I can get instead of buying a capture card?

To record stuff on your PC, like a game or something.
Use Fraps.

For recording TV, on your PC, you'll need a Capture Card, with some recording software.

Here are some programs that record your screen. If what you are recording are games, then I would go with Fraps (I've heard it is the best for that). If not, then any of the others are better if what you want is to record regular use of windows - for example when making a tutorial video.

Fraps
Camtasia
Hypercam
SnagIt

Hope that helps.
