Default Which 5000+ should I take?

There are 2 kinds of AMD 5000+ cpu's. Here they are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ sAM2,64bit,dual-core,WOF
AMD AM2 X2 Athlon 64 5000+ Boxed

I thought that the last one was from Brisbane. But anyway, the question is; which one should I take and why?

Thanks

Zangetsu.

If your not overclocking it doesnt matter, but if your are or might try get the Black Box, unlocked X plus it would probably clock alittle better as I would say they use a little better core for the Black Box ones. But it has no Heatsink and fan so that adds alittle to the cost.

If it is the black box edition, then I'll definitely get that one. But... What does sAM2 means? I have a AM2NF6G-VSTA, will that CPU work on that? Because, from what I've heard the 5000+ has 2000 MHZ FSB and my mobo can handle only 1000 mhz.

Thanks!

Zangetsu.

It probable just means (s) Socket and the Hypertransport is 1000/2000 for your board but the CPU support list only has the X2 5000 ADO5000IAA5DD Brisbane and theres 6 X2 5000s. You could just email Asrock to see if it supports the ADO5000DSWOF Black Box Edition. Your Hypertransport is from a base clock of 200 MHZ X 5= 1000 MHZ double pumped=2000 MHZ

Here is the list of my board:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Model=AM2NF4G-SATA2

I can't really figure the codes out, but I don't think the black edition will work on my mobo. But, will the other one work?

Its hard to tell on that site because they dont list a AMD part number. Your best bet would be to email Asrock and see the X2 5000 Black Box is supported part number ADO5000DSWOF, its been out awhile so they should have had a bios update for it.

The latest bios update is the 1.30 version. There isn't any other bios update. But I will post them a mail.
