I had a problem simlar a few days ago. I don't know about the pinging but....it was print sharing. I took down the firewall software and the print sharing worked fine. i had to authorized print sharing in the firewall. oh well.. its a start.

Did you use the automated file and print sharing service on all the PC's?

Did you check to make sure that there isn't a setting in the router which may be clocking ping requests?

I ran the network setup wizard on all the pcs if thats what your talking about and no I didn't check in the router because I figured it was a problem with the 1 pc because I can get into all the other pcs just not this one

@addy999 all the firewalls are off and its all up to date as far as I know

I got the problem solved i think wat was rong was that there was still some traces of zone alarm left so I had to unistall zone alarm from the exe in the program file and then delete the zone alarm file and then restart and it worked
