I was just wondering how big of a gap performance wise there is between vista ultimate and vista premium. Wat makes ultimate so much better? Does it run faster? And do u think its work spending the extra money to get it over premium.

Performance wise they are exactly the same. Vista Ultimate just has more built-in apps, has more advanced options (especially on the networking side).
All in all though, Home Premium is fine for the average user or gamer.

Most definitely worth getting Ultimate. I have Premium too, and I didn't have it on the computer long before I yanked it and put Ultimate on it.
Sooner or later you'll come to the realization that Ultimate is what *everyone* wants...just not everyone is willing to pay for it. For the few extra bucks, don't be a dumbass like them. lol |

IMO if I ever had to pay for an OS, I myself would go for Premium x64 over the overpriced Ultimate x64, just to get a few more features.

Here are the features MS left out of Home Premium and put into Ultimate:
1 - the ability to connect to domain networks - not needed for home user 2 - encrypted file system support - not needed for home user 3 - Faxing software - most likely not needed but can get third party if needed 4 - remote desktop - can use third party if need That is it, there is no reason any home user should need Ultimate. They are the exact same OS but MS limits features on them. |

Yeah, but it's kinda cooler to say: I have got Vista Ultimate!
No really, I think what you think, why pay more for unecessery things? No need, but...today some people...use pirate OS-s...So to some people it's not trouble to get Ultimate. Sad but True ( love that song! ).
