Default Sound card and speaker problem?

I just got a P5E motherboard which comes with a supreme FXII sound card, I also have a antec 900, the problem is that when I plug my speaker into the green holes on the antec 900 case, the speaker works but when I plug it into the green holes in the back (the holes on the sound card), it doesn't work. What should I do?
Thank You

you have to disable the onboard soundcard in the bios, if you did that, then my guess would be a bad card

Just to make sure.
I went to BIOS
went to the advanced tap
then there is a "Onboard Device Configuration"
went into that
Now there is a list of options
High Definition Audio [Enabled]
J-Mircon PATA/SATA Controller [Enabled]
Marvell Gigabit LAN [Enabled]
LAN Boot ROM [Disabled]
VIA 1394 [Enabled]

do I disable the "High Definition Audio" one?
Thanks a lot.

I thought video/sound cards just over-ride onboard stuff?

hmm I disabled the Onboard one, and when I start it, SoundMax tells me to reinstall and tells me that no audio is present, so I went to uninstall SoundMax to install it again, and when I uninstall it, it says "The HDA Audio bus drive is required and not found". hmmm what should I do now?
