Default Good option?

I am off to college next year and need to purchase a laptop. It will be used for college work, storing a few movies,my itunes music, and gaming(not extreme but a few like CS, diablo II, etc.) The one that i am currentl looking at is a customized HP dv6700t(base $650)

Specs:

Vista home premium 32 bit
15.4" WXGA HD HP Widescreen dislpay(1280x800)
Intel core 2 duo processor T7500(2.2GHz, 4mb L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB)
3Gb DDR2 memory (2 Dimm)
NVIDIA Geforce 8400M GS graphics card
250GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive
Lighscribe SuperMulti 8x DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN network connection
12 cell battery

The computer in its base package is $650 and with my modifications is $1,200
My question is is this a good deal or can i get a better comp for similar price? And what are your guys impressions of HP?

seems like a fair price.
i've had very good past experiences with hp, my new laptop is probably going to be a hp to.

i'm not so sure if you can run cs with the 8400, it may be just out of it's league.
Can you upgrade to a 8500? or preferably an 8600?

Damn, I didn't know that was still played. I used to love that game, went nuts with it before WoW.
