ptentially but its about how people are using facebook too that makes it popular. People are checking it constantly at work, on the move, in the evening. Its become more than just a social network for meeting people, its now more used for organising things through friends, meeting up for evenings out and such. Thats something thats really got the potential to give it longevity

I had no idea Facebook has grown that fast in the past few years. I though MySpace was still ahead of them in popularity and total net worth but they are blowing all of the other similar sites out of the water. I didn't know so many people checked their facebooks so often either. My friends at school never really talked about it as much as they talk about MySpace. I will have to get a page on there soon.

I'm not sure if you've heard of it before, but Xanga was one of the first social networking sites, and it used to be very popular. Although now it's pretty much dead compared to MySpace and Facebook.

Yeah I used to use Xanga but then it was too much work. Then I moved on to myspace. I then found that very pointless. Now I'm just on Facebook and I like it a lot. It's a great tool to keep in contact with your friends that you aren't able to see that often.

That was basically my progression as well

Facebook is good so long as you and your friends don't become plagued by the stupid number of rubbish applications on there. Werewolf and Zombies... comeon?!

I agree, I find it extremely annoying scrolling down several applications to find their original wall.

My friend just installs every application she gets a request for. It is so annoying when I go to post on her wall, write a long message only to find out it was her "Advanced Wall" after scrolling down a mile and a half. what the hell is up with that. Whatever happened to the original facebook. I swear, if I come out with a social network website I'll keep it simple, none of this commercial stuff... the creator of facebook makes enough money, no need to load it full of this crap...
