Default Shrinking Vista recorded tv tuner programs to fit DVD

Not sure where to post this in so I will try here.

I record programs using a tv tuner and Media Center on my new GM5442 Vista pc. Most of the programs are too long to put on a dvd. What would I need to use /buy to put them on a dvd ?

I have a program Replay Splitter that I could split and take out the commercials, but they are a dvr-ms format ( media Center recorded them as that ) and that format isnt recognize. I have Replay Converter to convert it but it doesnt recognize it either. So those programs wont work.

Media center comes with a dvd burner, but like I said, I need to shrink it down.

Read some of the other postings and saw DVD Shrink but not sure if it works on Vista or recognizes a dvr-ms.

Any suggestions ?

Hi Charlene

There is actually a new forum that might be better suited to answer your question on this (I know, I post there alot, hehe)
it's www.record-online-media.com/forum

But anyways, as to your question, i'd be happy to help you with it here or there. I used to have a Media Center PC, but it died 2 years ago so I built a new and better one, just not media. I THINK the files you save are windows media compatible, so they SHOULD be convertible...

Tell ya what, let me look at this for ya and help you out,

Replay Converter creates what's known as a log file, The log file will show all your activity for the day/session and allow me to see exactly what is happening, and hopefully help resolve your issue as well. :-)

Here are some instructions if you should need help in locating the log:

http://www.applian.com/logs.php

Anyways, the log files are a bit long generally, but they should show what's going on. You can copy/paste it into this forum, (or make a new thread at mine), or If you prefer, you can email it to me at jlenney@yahoo.com, just make a post here saying you've done that, as I don't check that email address all the time.

Don't worry, I use converter ALL the time, if anybody can help you I can. :-)

Jeff

Hi Jeff, thank you for helping me. I have had Replay AV Suite for about 1 1/2 yrs. Best money I have ever spent. The only thing I use constantly is the Replay AV daily. Do data entry 8 hrs a day so I am constantly listening and recording shows. They are very helpful too.

Since this wasnt the right place to post this, I will send a email to you through the email you gave me. So be sure to check it.

Thanks again for the help you given me here.
