I am learning how to do XHTML right now and would like to know what I need in order to do many things for websites. I am going to tell you what I want to do and if you can relply telling me what program I would specificaly need for that design that would be great:
animated buttons/tool bars/boarders: Background color/button color changing WITHOUT having to reload the page: Thumbnailes that pop up in a non pop up window with an "X" button to close when clicked on: Automatic scrolling text like you see at 7/11's or something: Mouse and button actions: Menus that pop out of a bar or location when rolled over or clicked on: Small forums with faces/advanced search options/customizable stuff/etc: gifs and gifs in an automatic scrolling menu: Click effects like ambiant water/white noise/oscilations upon clicking on an area or button: Buttons in a customizable shape. EX, I have drawings that I scanned into my computer and would like them to be outlined and used as a button, I can't seem to do a customizable shape button: That is all for now. If I find or think of something let me know. If at all possible try and keep the software free. I already have Macromedia Flash 8, Fireworks (which I hate), PhotoShop, and Dreamweaver. |

Yea that isn't bad. I didn't want to make it all Flash though for those who don't have flash. I know that is like "WHAT NO WAY?!" But really, there isn't too many people who have flash for those kind of websites. But I totaly hear what you are saying. Flash is freakin awsome like that.

Read up on HTML, xHTML, sHTML and Javascript on the net.. and pickup a copy of Photoshop CS2 or CS3.. CS will work as well, so long as it has ImageReady, not sure if CS came with it? CS2 and CS3 have animation built-in..
You can also try Dreamweaver, if you don't feel like doing it the hard way - spending hours upon hours on google.. I, however, learned alot of what I know reading tutorials on search engines, and I now own and operate three websites. -mak
