$517 w/o shipping

I personally think a sound card is not necessary. I would rather use the money to get a better motherboard instead. e.g. MSI P31 Neo-F or GA-P35-DS3L
Thank you!!! Those seems to be great products. I don't need the OS so that save her about 100 bucks. That is a definitely good build. She's wants a silver tower case so I guess I'll spend the OS money on a case and find her a good/cheap 5.1 speakers system. I got to go back to work so I'll check out your 1k build when I get home. Thanks again!!!

These parts sound good. Isn't an AMD processor better?

I'd get XMS2... there's a $37 lot after rebates, faster, cheaper, and HAS A HEATSINK

I doubt he need such a sound card... That's for the most extreme gamers. I doubt he needs it. Onboard sound should be fine. After all, this $70 motherboard came with 8 channel sound

I know XM2 is lots better. But the orginal price is $75 and he is building for his boss, so if the MIR don't work, it will be a bit of different.
