Default Intel Xeon

Hi, I was just looking on my suppliers website and I see all of these Intel Xeon processors which (as far as I can remember) weren't there a few weeks ago... are these the new processors everyone is on about... here is the list

http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...c9&cPath=27_28

(In Australian dollars)

I was going to get a Q6600 but I fell short of my budget so I can afford to spend at most... another $200.. would I be better off getting one of these... which one would be good....

And if someone can explain to me what the whole active and passive thing is... I would appreciate it...

Thanks,

The Xeon procs are designed for servers - Socket 771. If you have the money, and you think it's worth it, you can buy the Skulltrail mobo for $600 in February. You can run two Quad Xeons', giving you a total of 8 cores.
