Default ! Rules Reminder !

Just to make sure our position is clear on a few rules which seem to be being broken.

The rules as stated here Forum Rules
and I quote:
Quote:
1. Posting/discussion about software cracks, serial no's, and illegal downloading and duplication of software is prohibited.
This includes
1. Torrents
2. P2P
3. Port forwarding
3. Ripping songs from Itunes (DRM)
4. Downloading from YouTube
5. Any illegal copying of software...at all!!
6. Anything illegal at all in fact

This is clear, if you think the subject is illegal..
a) Dont create any such thread
b) Certainly dont reply in any such thread

Claiming you "didn't know it was illegal/against the rules" is not a defense. Ignorance is no excuse and we all agreed to the rules when joining

The next rules states
Quote:
2. Discussions which actively encourage illegal hacking/malicious harm to computers/networks is prohibited (this includes discussion surrounding use of proxy servers)
This includes anything which we believe to be a hacking attempt eg
1. How do i recover my admin password
2. How do I keylog someone/my GF/my BF/friend
3. How do I play a joke on someone
4. How do i access the web at school
5. How do I use a proxy
6. Anything else which clearly comes under this rule

Again, this is clear, if you think the subject breaks this rule..
a) Dont post any such thread
b) Certainly dont reply in any such thread

And again, claiming you "didn't know it was illegal/against the rules" is not a defense. Ignorance is no excuse and we all agreed to the rules when joining

We will issue infractions/bannings for any user breaking these rules....that includes long standing members who should certainly know better

case in point Youtube to mp3 ---> itunes
going forward the following user:
mkjaekmi
maroon1
dark_legacy2006
Softix
JLV2k5
would all be looking at infractions for there responses in this thread (i havent issued them this time). PS special thanks for Brian for bringing other users into line.

Thank you

He means that for certain games, like CoD4, in order to host a server, you need to port forward certain ports.

im afraid if talking about port forwarding is illegal here, this forum just isnt for me. there is absolutely nothing illegal about port forwarding. might as well say its illegal to talk about how to set up a static IP

oh come on people!!, a little judgment is obvious. Its only in the context of where the thread is suspected to be discussing illegal activities.
e.g
q. my emule is really slow
a. have you forwarded the port(s)

is this gonna be like the swearing thread, where every user took the opportunity to test every possible scenario.

All cases will be judged with reference to whether is break the spirit of the rules. And it's not the grey areas I'm bothered about

So as long as we say what it is we're port forwarding for, than it's ok?

yes i think as long as it is clear that its not for illegal activities then its ok. We have to be careful because
a) We dont want this place to get the wrong sort of image/clients
b) We dont want to expose our selfs to any unnecessary liabilities
