Default Question about log ins for forums

I don't know when this started (a month ago?) but as of late when I log onto my internet forums, after a short time I will be logged off. I used to be logged in forever and never got booted, it's rather annoying. It doesn't seem to matter what forum I'm on and they don't all use the same forum software. For years I would click on my forums and I would be automaticly logged in, now I have to sign in and re-sign in if I hang out long enough, any ideas?
I use IE but it happens on FF as well, same result. I've enabled cookies and even went in and entered specific sites as "allow all cookies" but the same thing happens.
The only thing I can think of that has changed are; Microsoft updates and I recently replaced my internet modem...Anything I should look for, anybody else see this???
TIA

Yes, after 10 minutes it logs you off. No, I think it's here forever, at least since the forum is up.
You can't fight that, except if you come on forum, then be on forum not surf somewhere.

a firewall is like a gate. it keeps the bad people out and the dog in but it's not fool proof. but lets say you download and run an infected program. that will be like letting in a "friend." if it's infected you run that program you can get malware. that's like a friend raping your family and stealing your money.

So this IS something new and everybody has to deal with it? It's not just this forum it's my motorcycle forum, my fishing forum, hunting, all of them! It also happens if I don't do anything but browse, not leave the site. I may have other "tabs" open but I never leave the site.

I use IE7 and once logged in I can go visit anywhere whether using a new tab or close down IE completely and reopen it, and still be logged in when I return to forums. The only time is when I log out myself.

Before my new rig when I had the same operating system if I clicked on a link and then returned to Forums, I found myself logged out. If I opened a new tab and then closed it I found myself logged out. I never found out why!

I always put it down to an update
