Default Dual Booting Vista-XP

Sorry if this has been asked before but I read several threads on the issue and didn't see an answer.

If you dual boot do you still have access to the files that are loaded on the Vista side or do you have to reinstall them?

I currently have 1g memory 250g hard drive HP and I am using Vista as before I completely disliked it but I had 512mg and 80g hard drive the increase in memory and hard drive make a huge improvement. So not I dont mind using it so much however I have a job that requires me to use XP. I am not sure if I should just down grade or dual boot.

Suggestions advice or tips are most appreciated.

Thanks

Oddly enough, the XP/Vista combo is one I've never had to dual-boot. Knock on wood, I'll get a call for it tomorrow

Try these:

dual-boot?

Question

I have Acer Extensa 5620 Laptops. It already has Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed.

How can I make it dualboot with Windows XP Professional? I'm already see http://apcmag.com/5485/dualbooting_vista_and_xp but the problem is, my laptop come without Windows Vista CD, only the backup CD.
