Default How to check a Power Supply

I am about to build a computer but when when turning the power on,nothing
happens.
Is their a way I can check the power supply to make sure it delivers power
to the m/b,fans etc
Should the power supply fan turn when it is switched on? And if it does not
would that be an indication that there is something wrong with the power
supply ?

Thanks

With moderns PSU's, the motehrboard must be directly connected to the case's on switch for it to work. Make sure everything is plugged in right and that the PSU's switch is flipped. Of the fan isn't on it just means that it doesn;t have any power flowing through it. Good luck.
