Default Laptop Won't Hibernate

I have a Lenovo laptop that will not hibernate. I have it set so that my screen shuts down after 45 minutes and the hard disks turn off after an hour. I have the system set to hibernate after three hours, but it just won't do it. It used to go into hibernation when I first got the Laptop in July, but shortly after that I turned off that function until I came to this forum and started to learn basic things like how hibernation is actually good for your computer and screen savers are not. I went to turn it back on about a month ago and, like I said, it's not working. Does anyone know what the problem could be here?
