I use a pair of PMC tb1's which were made in the 80's sometime. I picked them up for a couple of hundered pounds, so maybe $400 or less. 2 way with a port on the back. Really clear, easy to listen to, look great. Of course the music industry standard yamaha ns10's are around $300, but I've heard they sound a bit harsh. Hunt around for a nice pair, they'll lack the big bass thing you get from these 5.1 systems, but that's not a bad thing; they'll just sound better
