My games wont start

Hey i have a:

-ALBATRON NVIDIA FX5700LE
-512mb RAM dual channel
-amd athalon64 3000
-ASUS K8V-X VIA K8T800
-Western Digital 160G 7200rpm HDD(8Mb cache)

I have installed windows XP HOME and since the format i have tried installing; empire earth, flatout and half life 2. none of the games will load, empire earth doesnt do anything, flatout looks as if its loading but freezes and halflife freezes. What do I do?

wait, did you get HL2 installed, then ran it and it froze?
