Exclamation Toshiba p35 problems Please Help

I have a toshiba p 35 and i accidently touced connecter pins for lcd screen with a metal object with out thinking, i saw a spark and the computer went dead. I think i short circuited the motherboard. The only problem is when i turn it on lights work, fans, cd drive opens/closes, charges battery all work. I do not hear the hardrive spinning and the lcd screen does not show anything. I tried external monitor with vga and s-video doesnt work. Any one that can give me ideas pleas help. Otherwise maybe i will look into buying a mobo on ebay, but they run over $250 so i want to go around that somehow.

Thank you
