Default Thinkpad dead?

I got a Thinkpad A30 from a friend a while ago in a trade. If you pick it up from the wrong corners, it would freeze. Tonight I brought it to my friends apartment, and its completely dead. It doesn't begin to turn on, doesn't even recognize when I plug in the adapter. Any ideas? Is it a total loss? I'm shooting in the dark. Any info would help. Thanks.
