printer problems...help<3

okay..i had to reformat my old pc, and i have a hewlett packard desject 612C printer(lol@it being from the 90's)

and when i try to instal the software for it so it can print,during the installation i get the following errors in this order

"unable to copy file 'C:\\Windows\system32\msvcrt.dll"(system file)

'the driver that youre trying to install is not compatible wiith windows xp. please contact the manufacturer for an updated version"

if anyone can help,then thanks

Windows XP already has the driver for that model in it's dropdown list. Ignore the software on your disc or Cd and use XP's

but whenever i try to print, it looks like its printing, but the paper is still blank, like there is no ink or something, but im positive that there is
